13th Postdoc and Doctoral Student Seminar

from June 30 to July 1, 2022 in Dresden

2022/07/12

At the 13th Postdoc- and PhD-Student Seminar of the German Geodetic Commission – Department of Land and Real Estate Management, Post-doc and PhD-students in the field of land and real estate management from different German universities met in Dresden. The seminar allows young researchers to present their ongoing work. The aim of the seminar is networking and exchange of experiences among Post-doc and PhD-students. At the same time, the presenters receive feedback on their research projects beyond their own university borders.

This year, exciting research approaches were presented and discussed in five Sessions that showed the whole spectrum of land and real estate management. Nine members of the TU Darmstadt's Landmanagement Department were among the participants. Felipe Francisco De Souza, a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Landmanagement, gave a presentation on his approach to optimized decision support for the international adaptation of land readjustment through predictive modelling using unstructured data and machine learning algorithms. Likewise, Raphael Bretscher, research associate at the Department of Landmanagement, presented and discuss his findings on scenario-based analysis of future requirements of public instruments using the example of redesign in land consolidation.

In addition to the presentations, there was enough time to exchange experiences with colleagues from the various universities in a methods and instruments workshop and at the evening social event. Many thanks to the team of the TU Dresden for the very good organization and realization of the seminar.
