25th (Anniversary) Workshop “Municipal Geographical Information Systems”

2022/03/02

With 80 participants, the 25th (anniversary) workshop “Municipal Geoinformation Systems” organized by the Institute for Municipal Geoinformation Systems IKGIS e.V. was a complete success despite its purely digital orientation. Highly topical topics as well as committed speakers have contributed to this.

After a look back at the lines of development that have emerged in the previous workshops, the first block was devoted to the topic “Open Data in Hessen”. After the three lectures, every participant should now be able to use the new offer professionally. The speakers of the second block dealt with current developments in the field of spatial data infrastructures. The current status of the GDI-DE and the GDI-Südhessen was presented and the perspectives through the new approach “Rest API's” were also shown. The third block showed current developments in the field of digital citizen participation. The basics were taught, but current developments in practical use were also shown. The contributions can be found on the IKGIS website (www.ikgis.de).

The IKGIS is a research cooperation between the Department of Land Management and the Frankfurt University of Applied Science (Prof. Dr.-Ing. Robert Seuß, Professorship for Geoinformation) involving a large number of cities and districts in southern Hesse.
