Guest lectures in the module “Infrastructure Planning” with Ms. Harb and Mr. Gallein on the topics of stakeholder management using the practical example of the western regional bypass and network expansion along the Nuremberg-Bamberg line

Last Thursday and Tuesday, guest lectures took place in the module “Infrastructure Planning”. On Thursday, Ms. Sophia Harb from Drees und Sommer gave a lecture on the topic of stakeholder management using the practical example of the western regional bypass. Her expertise and experience provided the students with valuable insights into the practical implementation of successful stakeholder management.

Ms. Harb emphasized the importance of involving all stakeholders at an early stage to ensure a broad level of acceptance and support for infrastructure projects. Using the example of the Regionaltangente West project, a planned rail link to relieve congestion on existing traffic routes in the Rhine-Main region, she illustrated how transparent dialog and consideration of the various interests of the parties concerned can lead to viable solutions.

Another guest lecture took place on Tuesday, in which Mr. Daniel Gallein from DB Netz AG gave a presentation on network expansion and planning approval based on the Nuremberg-Bamberg line. Mr. Gallein gave the students insights into the challenges of planning and maintaining railroad infrastructure.

The guest lecture by Ms. Harb and the presentation by Mr. Gallein provided the students with a comprehensive insight into stakeholder management, as well as network expansion and plan approval in the infrastructure sector. The presented practical examples of the Regionaltangente West and the Nuremberg-Bamberg line highlighted the complexity of these projects and underlined the importance of effective communication and cooperation with the relevant stakeholders.
