“Building component carousel” at the Centre for Building Culture Rhineland-Palatinate

On 7 April 2022, the “building component carousel” (Bauteilkreisel) Darmstadt-Dieburg was presented to an interested audience of experts and people interested in building culture as part of the 52nd Pecha Kucha Night.

The Mainz Centre for Building Culture Rhineland-Palatinate invited visitors to the finissage of the month-long exhibition “UpCycling :: ReUse”, in which the “building component carousel” (Bauteilkreisel) was represented with a contribution alongside numerous posters and exhibits from architecture and object art. The theme of the exhibition was the documentation and communication of creative, experimental and successful approaches to the reuse of used materials in different contexts and scales.

After a presentation by Nourdin Labidi from the WieBauin research project on the Bauteilkreisel project, its challenges and goals, the well-attended event provided an opportunity to discuss the topic of regional reuse of building materials, experiences and potentials as well as much more in a relaxed atmosphere. Many thanks to Dr Björn Hekmati, Gina Reif and Berit Jäger from the Centre for Building Culture in Mainz for the invitation and the successful event.
