International Workshop GEOBENCH addresses current challenges in sensor evaluation and benchmarking

The 3rd International Workshop on Evaluation and BENCHmarking of Sensors, Systems and GEOspatial Data in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing took place on 20th and 21st of November 2025 in Wroclaw, Poland. This event was co-organized by our research group!

From September 29 to October 1, 2025, the joint summer school of TU Darmstadt and EUMETSAT took place for the first time – and it was a great success. For three days, everything revolved around satellite remote sensing and weather observation from space.

As part of the AI Camp, TU Darmstadt is discussing the future of teaching and learning in the age of AI.

Professor Dorota Iwaszczuk represented Department 13 and contributed to the workshop “AI Competencies: How Do We Integrate Them into Teaching and Examinations?” with an example from remote sensing.

From September 10–12, 2025, the international conference UAV-g took place in Espoo, Finland. The workshop focused on the acquisition of geoinformation through the use of drones.

Am 9. September tauschten sich die Forschende des Fachbereiches 13 zu neuesten Erkenntnissen und Forschungsschwerpunkten aus. Einen Tag lang standen Vorträge, Postersessions und Diskussionen im Zentrum des Mottos Climate Change Mitigation in Built Environment.

Space debris, space traffic management, climate-neutral space travel and many other exciting topics were discussed at the 2nd Symposium on Space Law.
