Managing Director of the Hessian District Assembly in Wiesbaden

Since 2008 one of the two managing directors of the local umbrella organization of the 21 districts in Hesse, based in the house of local self-government in the state capital Wiesbaden. Associated with this are numerous direct memberships in committees or advisory boards of associations and institutions at federal and state level as well as a large number of association memberships.

Honorary professor for “Urban and Regional Development / Spatial Planning” at the Technical University of Darmstadt

Since 2005 as a private lecturer and since 2017 as an honorary professor, independent in teaching at the Technical University of Darmstadt with a special focus on the practice of urban and regional development in Hesse. At the same time member of several scientific committees and advisory boards at national, national and regional level.

• Over 130 publications on selected topics of urban and regional development / spatial planning as well as local and regional politics / local government in monographs and specialist publications as well as individual and co-authorship.

• Over 180 specialist lectures on the above-mentioned topics at congresses, meetings and seminars in Germany and abroad as well as in German and English.
