Dreiländertagung of the DGPF in Dresden

With the nomination for the KKN-Prize, two presentations and the chairing of a session, the group of FuB was well represented at the DGPF.
Last week (October 5-6), the Remote Sensing and Image Analysis working group participated in the “Dreiländertagung” of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photogrammetrie, Fernerkundung und Geoinformation (DGPF), the Österreichische Gesellschaft für Vermessung und Geoinformation (OVG) and the Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Photogrammetrie und Fernerkundung (SGPF) in Dresden.
Mona Goebel was nominated for the Karl Kraus Young Scientists Award 2022 with her master's thesis on Edge-related Deep Learning for Semantic Segmentation.
Professor Iwaszczuk was chair of a session and Janik Steier and Katrin Krzepek gave presentations on forest fire prediction using Sentinel-2 data and the potential of remote sensing for peatland protection.
