Sculpture "Der Bedrohte II"

As a visualization example for close-up photogrammetry we have chosen an art object by Waldemar Grzimek "The Threatened II" from 1989, which is located on our campus.

On the right you can see a visualization that was calculated in the cloud using 123D catch. A total of 108 images were taken for the model at a distance of about 6m and uploaded to the cloud application. There the images are oriented to each other and after a few hours the final meshed model is available. The model was not reworked or further edited, nor are there any shots from above, so there are still gaps and artifacts in the head area. The same images were also processed with the programs VisualSFM and CMPMVS. The analysis resulted in a very dense and homogeneous model consisting of over 2.8 million points meshed with 4 million triangles.
